Top Lightweight SPF For Oily and Sensitive Skin

Hello everyone!

So, at the end of last year I made this resolution that I would finally start to take better care of my skin: I wanted to really figure out what the needs of my skin are, amp up my skincare routine and find those holy grail products that I can always rely on for making my skin the best it has every been.
Fast forward half a freaking year... exactly, I have not taken a single step towards reaching my resolution...

I was just thinking about that a couple of days ago and came to the conclusion that I am such a fail when it comes to skincare, however there is one thing I've always been good at and have been doing consistently for the past years: wearing sunscreen!

I do not have to tell you how important sunscreen is, especially on your face. I know that you should wear a little bit of SPF every single day (even if you think the sun isn't actually out), but I admittely do not do that, because I do not like that many layers of product on my skin. This time of year however, it is one of my must-do steps in my morning routine.

Now, I do have pretty sensitive, oily skin and I used to have acne - the last thing I wanted to do was putting a thick, greasy layer of sunscreen on my face! So over the years I narrowed it down to the ones that not only work and have quite good ingredients, but are also lightweight, (mostly) oil-free and do not irritiate my skin. So, without further ado, here are my recommendations for you!

This La Roche-Posay sunscreen is a cult favourite and I know sooo many people that use it! It is a gel texture (which I love for my oily skin!), it is so easy to apply, does not leave a white cast over your face and sinks right in. It also does have mattifying effects, using Airlicium technology, which prevents shine throughout the day - perfect for under makeup! It is also perfume-free and water-proof and it says it does not provide a flashback in photos, also I must admit that I have never tried that.

This Neutrogena sunscreen is definitely the one that I have been using the longest and have repurchased over and over again. You can get it at the drugstore and it is the most affordable one out of the ones I'm showing here - which is why I recommend it to everyone I know! I originally got this product when I was still suffering from acne pretty bad and it was the first suscreen ever that did not clog my pores or made me break out. It is also supposed to be very good for people with eczema! It is fragrance-free, oil-free and sweat and water resistant. I like this especially for when I am not wearing makeup and going to the beach, pool or just be in the sun for a long period of time.

The Murad SPF is the newest one in my beauty cabinet. I was super intrigued by it, because it is marketed more as a mattifying moisturizer (which I am always on the look out for!) with added SPF and I think that it is nice for gloomier days, where I feel like I do not need that much actual SPF.  It does feel really light and sinks in immediately, however I do not quite trust it for wearing it alone, without any makeup over it. It does keep your skin matte though!

This Clarins sunscreen is quite expensive, but I do like how it focuses on protection against air-pollution, which makes it great as an SPF in the city! This is also the only sunscreen I've found so far that has added skincare benefits other than the SPF and claims to improve texture and tone of the skin. I can not really confirm or deny that, as I have not used this product for a long enough time (it is so expensive, I do avoid re-purchasing it haha), but I do love it for it's protection purposes and how ultra-lightweight it is! It is also oil-free.

So these are my top four recommendations. What do you think? Have you tried any of these? Or do you have a completely different recommendation? I would love to know!

xx, Janine
